CPI has enhanced OpenFox Computerized Criminal History (CCH) and OpenFox HotFiles (HFS) transactions by creating an interface with the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency (ALEA) Firearms Prohibited Persons Database (FPPD). The interface greatly improves data sharing between the entities.
CPI provided a one-time initial extract of the Computerized Criminal History (CCH) and Hotfiles (HFS) data. When a new transaction is received by the OpenFox Message Switch, the CCH and HFS generate a “day forward” FPPD Enter, Modify, Clear, or Cancel transactions containing CCH and HFS data to the customer via the new web service interface.
A few of the enhancements that CPI executed during the project are as follows:
- Configured all necessary new message keys, stations, and style sheets on the OpenFox Message Switch
- Configured a new synchronous SOAP web service client on the OpenFox Message Switch to communicate with the FFPD database
- Upgraded server and client authentication and encryption
- Configured new data tables, processing, and flags for transactions between the CCH database and the FPPD database
- Configured new data tables, processing, and flags for transactions between the HFS database and the FPPD database
- Created a one-time, initial CCH and HFS data extract
- Established the necessary hardware configurations
