CPI and the Michigan State police recently implemented a new SOAP Web-Service Interface to the Michigan Secretary of State (SOS) Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) from the OpenFox Message Switch. The interface allowed for the timely passing of information for the following transactions:

·        Vehicle query (include boats and snowmobiles)

·        Abandoned vehicles, entry and update

·        Stolen vehicle, entry and update

·        Paper plate entry and update

The new Web Service interface replaces the legacy TCP/IP text interface between SOS and LEIN.  This interface will be used in the future for DRIVER data exchanges.
